The 11th annual OYE Latinx Youth Conference will be taking place on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at Cañada College.
The OYE conference has been bringing together local teens and young adults, ages 12 to 22, for over a decade to explore questions of identity, purpose, and community building.
This event offers participants an interactive day filled with hands-on workshops, inspirational speakers, artistic expression, and community resource sharing. It aims to provide young people and their parents with a supportive environment to foster personal growth and networking opportunities. Free breakfast and lunch will also be provided to attendees.
This year's OYE Latinx Youth Conference features renowned speakers Aric Jackson and Flor Martinez Zaragoza. Jackson, who was named "Best New Speaker" in 2000 by the Chicago Chapter of the International Speech Organization, has been inspiring and motivating people for over a decade. Flor Martinez Zaragoza is a 27-year-old activist, influencer, and community and farmworker advocate. She is the founder and CEO of Celebration Nation, a nonprofit focused on helping the Latino community.
