Redwood City resident Kent Manske will give an informal gallery talk about his artwork on Saturday at Ark Art Gallery in San Jose, according to a news release.
Two of Manske’s works will be on display and address Redwood City.
Manske is also one of nine Bay Area artists who will be exhibiting in an interdisciplinary exhibition at Art Ark Gallery in San Jose; Wylde, another local artist from North Fair Oaks/Redwood City, is also part of the exhibition.
Pathways includes a wide range of media including artist books, conceptual works, glass, mixed media, painting, performance, printmaking, sculpture, sound, video, and installations. A collaborative, site specific vinyl installation for the gallery’s west facing windows is by José Arenas and Manske, according to a press release.
On Saturday, attendees can expect the following works from Manske:
- You are the Tree is an interdisciplinary, community-focused artwork, which celebrates local labor while considering the linked histories of Redwood City and California as members of our shared global citizenry.
- San Francisco Bay presents sequential maps of the San Francisco Bay from a continental view to a specific tidal marsh in Redwood City– the salt flats southeast of Seaport Boulevard.
