The annual Climate Summit for San Mateo County will return on Oct. 11 for its second year at the South San Francisco Conference Center.
The annual event allows Bay Area residents to learn from community members who are at the forefront of addressing climate change throughout the county.
This year’s event theme is “Adaptation and Equity: Building Power for Community Resilience,” focusing on ways to advance climate adaptation and equity within San Mateo County.
The summit will feature numerous panels and speakers, including Congress member Kevin Mullin, along with representatives of various community-focused organizations, such as Thrive Alliance, Climate Resilient Communities, Nuestra Casa, and Rise South City — all of which are co-hosting the event.
There will also be several breakout sessions throughout the day, covering various topics such as funding for community resilience, nature-based solutions for climate adaptation, school district partnerships and youth leadership, and more.
