Redwood City School District distributes COVID tests ahead of Thanksgiving break

Redwood City School District is asking all students and staff to test for COVID on Nov. 27 before returning to the classroom
St. Vincent School COVID 4

Redwood City School District will be distributing COVID testing kits to staff and students at all 12 schools on Nov. 17 and 18. RCSD is asking every individual to test for COVID on Nov. 27, before returning to the classroom on Nov. 28 following the Thanksgiving holiday.

Each student and school employee will receive a box with two kits through their school administration. The Hawes Preschool will also have test kits delivered to them.

If testing results in a positive test, students should not return to school. COVID-positive individuals should stay home and isolate for at least five days.

To report absences due to COVID, parents should complete the RCSD self-reporting form that is available on the Quicklinks section of the RCSD and school websites.

Once reported, the Department of Student Services will contact parents to review the case and answer any return to school questions.

School staff should report necessary absences through Frontline.

For additional questions regarding positive cases in students, contact: StudentCOVIDResponse@rcsdk8.net. For employees, contact:  EmployeeCOVIDResponse@rcsdk8.net

In addition, a vaccination clinic will be held for both COVID and flu vaccines on Dec. 7 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Hoover Community School. Those interested are encouraged to register but walk-in appointments will also be available.
