Redwood City police have confirmed that an assault took place Sunday evening on Woodside Road.

Despite rumors circulating on social media, the victim of the assault did not die and there was "no evidence to suggest firearms were used," Redwood City Police Sgt. Jeff Clements told the Pulse. Clements is part of the Street Crime Suppression Team.

It's unclear what led to the event on Sunday or whether anyone was arrested. Police said they will issue more information in the coming days.
