Man arrested on narcotics and firearm charges

Suspect remains in custody while awaiting charges.

Redwood City Police officers Tuesday, Sept. 28 arrested a man who was seen parking a reported stolen vehicle in the driveway of a residence on Glenwood Avenue, according to a news release.

At approximately 5:10 a.m., officers attempted to contact the driver who exited the vehicle and charged and yelled at the officers, police said. When the driver ignored verbal commands to stop and get on the ground, officers deployed a Taser and took the suspect into custody without injury, police said.

Upon searching the vehicle, the officers located a loaded and un-serialized 9mm handgun along with 19.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine and several hundred dollars, according to police The suspect was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for numerous felony and misdemeanor charges, including possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance for sale, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
