San Mateo County officials are advising motorists that they should expect delays in the coming days, as crews will continue roadwork along Middlefield Road.
The county anticipates temporary pedestrian and vehicular detours and is asking bicyclists and vehicles to share the road to avoid delays. Roadwork and detours will continue until Oct. 28, the county said in a news release. Access will always be provided to businesses.
Crews will be performing roadwork reconstruction on Middlefield Road, southbound from Dumbarton Avenue to First Avenue. Local businesses in the immediate area are expected to be impacted. However, dust control efforts will be in place to minimize the impacts.
Southbound from First Avenue to Third Avenue, electrical, irrigation and sidewalk work is being undertaken. Throughout this process, the county is expecting noise impacts on businesses near the area where work will be taking place. Dust control efforts will also be in place.
Those located on Middlefield Road southbound from Third Avenue to Fifth Avenue should expect jackhammering, sidewalk demolition, debris removal with trucks and electrical work along the roadway. Local businesses in the area will experience noise impacts, as well as construction dust and debris.
