Estelle  "Babe" Carrubba, 92, passed away peacefully on August 15th at home in Belmont surrounded by her family. She was the widow of Fred S. Carrubba, her husband. They shared 41 years of marriage together.

Born and raised in Saratoga, CA, she was the daughter of Rose and Sam Sporofo. She graduated from Los Gatos High School and worked at Lockheed Martin in Mountain View, CA before settling in at Walgreens Corp where she worked 19 years as an auditor while raising her family.

Babe was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Belmont for 62 years where she was an active Board Member of the Ladies Guild and taught CCD for years. She cherished her friends in the Guild.

Babe loved spending time in her garden, tending to her orchids, roses and fruit trees. She also loved baking and being in the kitchen. She enjoyed participating with the Ladies Guild in all the community activities Her hobbies included knitting and stained glass. She will be remembered for her love of family, her sweet, thoughtful nature and her kindness.

Babe is survived by her three children, Sandra, Debra and Fred (Vanessa) along with 3 grandchildren, Madalene, Nicholas, Grace, her precious, loving sister and best friend Helen Kiraly also, many, many cousins, nieces and nephews.  Babe was preceded in death by her parents, Sam & Rose, husband Fred, sisters Rosemary and Nancy.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday August 26, at 10:00 AM at St. Mark Church 325 Marine View Avenue Belmont, CA 94002.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Camp Okizu, a camp for children with cancer.
