November 19, 1926 - March 7, 2023
God took him home, it was His will, but in our hearts he liveth still.
At the age of 96, Gabriel returned to God's Kingdom. We lost our beloved husband, father, grandpere and uncle. He passed away peacefully from complications of pancreatic cancer.
He enjoyed making others happy. He gave so much and demanded so little. He concealed his pain and shared his smiles. He was a joy to be around and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, children Paul Michel, Yvette Michel and John Michel, grandchildren Madeleine McGee, Kevin McGee and Marie McGee, adopted children Mark and Diane Craver, and many other relatives.
In 2002, Gabriel lost his first wife, Mary, the mother of his three children, to cancer. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother and four sisters.
Gabriel arrived in this country in 1968. He worked tirelessly and successfully to build a good life for his family. He was educated in the fields of mechanical engineering and material sciences. His initial career was in the semiconductor industry where he owned a company that made floppy disc drives. For the past fifty years, he has been a successful commercial real estate developer.
Gabriel was an avid reader and knowledgeable in so many topics. He enjoyed gardening and from a young age could make any plant grow and flourish, even bringing plants seemingly dead back to life. He loved tools and machines and "playing" in his workshop.
He had a special love of flowers and birds, especially eagles and had a collection of more than one hundred bird figurines.
Gabriel was a devout Catholic. His funeral Mass will be at St. Gregory Church in San Mateo on March 15th at 10:30 AM. He will be buried in the Skylawn Cemetery.
