March 3, 1946 - March 18, 2023
Stephanie Di Trapani passed away in the comfort of her home Saturday evening, March 18 at the age of 77 surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband, Franco, son Daniele, daughter in-law, Deb, daughter Ingrid, son in-law Jason, son Dario, and proud “Nonna” to “Nico” Di Trapani.
She is predeceased by her siblings, Luigi, Leone, Binella, Carolina and Giuseppe and her parents Pasquale and Maria Sidella. A loving godmother and aunt of many nieces and nephews who admired, loved, and enjoyed many visits to her home.
Stephanie was born in Bitritto, Italy in 1946 and immigrated to New York in 1960 at the age of 14.
It was then when she met the love of her life, Franco in 1963, at an Italian dance club and married two years later. They moved to California in 1971 where they raised their 3 children and were restaurant entrepreneurs for many years to come. They were socially active in the Italian Social Club and the Sons of Italy, where they participated in dinners, dancing and met lifelong friends. After raising her 3 children, she decided to work for the Sequoia School District in Redwood City – to do what she loved – cooking for the students for 12 years until she retired. Stephanie and Franco enjoyed traveling, but her profound passion for cooking and entertaining for her family and friends were her happiest moments.
Rosary will be held Tuesday, March 28, between 5pm-7pm at St. Pius Church in Redwood City and friends are invited back for the Funeral Mass at 10:30am on Wednesday, March 29.
Burial ceremonies will immediately follow at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Los Altos.
In lieu of flowers, the Family requests donations be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
