What's the holiday season without a little friendly neighborhood competition?
Redwood City's annual Holly Jolly Home Decorating Contest is back to celebrate the the merriest, cheeriest and most inflatable houses in town.
Think you've got what it takes? Sign ups open Monday, Nov. 29 and close Sunday, Dec. 19 at 11:59 pm (or when a maximum of 50 entries is reached). Entry is free.
So, put on your over-the-top holiday sweater, drag decorations out of storage, and get ready to decorate. Deck your walls, rooftops, doors, and yards with the brightest of lights and show your Holiday Spirit, whatever you celebrate.
First, second and third place winners will be selected in the following categories: "Merry & Bright" (this category is all about the lights), "Holiday Spirit" (over-the-top holiday cheer) and "Incredible Inflatables" (whose house has the most hot air?). One lucky winner will win the most coveted award, "Judges Favorite."
The Prize bounty includes festive goodies and gift certificates from local businesses as well as awesome yard signs to proudly display (bragging rights included, of course).
Judging will take place on Monday and Tuesday, December 20 and 21 at sunset. For some inspiration, check out last year's winners here—and happy decorating.
