From carolers to holiday performances and traditions, Courthouse Square will light up beginning this weekend to capture their special holiday moments inside. Check out all the holiday happenings to enjoy this month.
DECK THE HALLS
The streets of downtown are decked and ready for the holiday season with lights, garland and more! The pièce de résistance is a brand-new oversized illuminated ornament in Courthouse Square, perfect for capturing those special holiday moments. Visitors are encouraged to take a photo inside the ornament and post it onto social media with the hashtags #LifeSizeHoliday and #RCIAShinesBright

HOLIDAY HANDBELL PERFORMANCE
Ring in the holidays with the sounds of handbells at the San Mateo County History Museum. Bell Appeal, a group sponsored by Bethany United Methodist Church in San Francisco, will perform a variety of holiday tunes. After the concert, the audience will have a chance to meet the ringers and learn to ring a handbell.

CHRISTMAS AT THE FOX THEATER
Join singer/songwriter Brandon Pasion at Fox Theater for an evening of Christmas songs, original music and stories of Christmases through the years. The night will feature arranger, Tony Castro and soaring strings from some of the San Francisco Bay's finest orchestral artists. Start your season off right with signature Christmas drinks, caroling, nostalgia and an unforgettable evening of music with the Brandon Pasion.

A holiday tradition, the Peninsula Ballet Theatre will present a trio of Nutcracker performances at Fox Theater including an up-close and personal performances perfectly tailored for young audiences and families, a hip-hop re-imagining brought to life by a cast of 35 all-star hip-hop artists, and a full-length magical performance of Gregory Amato’s Nutcracker is performed by Peninsula Ballet Theatre's professional company and conservatory.

Get in the holiday spirit during the 15th Annual Hometown Holidays Celebration! Activities will include complementary photos with Santa, live entertainment, holiday food, kids carnival & rides, and the holiday parade extravaganza. The celebrations will conclude with the holiday tree lighting in Courthouse Square.

CAROLERS FILL THE STREETS
The Merrie Olde Christmas Carolers, the world's oldest and largest professional caroling organization, will be spreading some Christmas cheer during two performances this month. Costumed in Dickensian attire, The Merrie Olde Christmas Carolers perform new and unique musical arrangements of beloved holiday songs. Songs are accompanied by the merry sounds of sleigh bells, finger cymbals, tambourines and kazoos. The carolers will make their way throughout Downtown singing loud for all to hear.

CALTRAIN HOLIDAY TRAIN
All aboard! The 2021 Holiday Train will be making its stop into Redwood City at the Redwood City Caltrain Station. Decorated with over 75,000 lights, the community will be invited to join in singing with onboard carolers and the Salvation Army Christmas Brass Ensemble. Community members are encouraged to bring new toys or books to donate to families in need. Also, Santa, Mrs. Claus, Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer will ride disembark from the train to greet kids and pose for pictures.

The Chabad MidPen invites the community to partake in the 12th Annual Chanukah Festival at Courthouse Square. Activities will including a Menorah lighting, live music, latkes and donuts, local dignitaries, and a special performance by Frisco Fred the Juggler! Plus, give back this season with the donation of new scarves, hats, mittens, gloves, and socks to decorate the Menorah. All items will be donated to a homeless shelter after Chanukah.
