September 23, 1943 – April 26, 2022
Rudolph Vargas, 78, passed away April 26 in Redwood City. He was born September 23, 1943 in Guadalajara, Mexico to Bonifacio and Dolores (Gonzalez) Vargas. After graduating from Cal State Fullerton he joined Price Waterhouse & Co, later starting his own CPA firm, Vargas & Co. He was a member of the Latin Business Association and Chairman of the Mexican American Community Services Association. In 1968 he married Judith Haupert. In 1974 the couple moved to San Carlos.
Rudy will be remembered by many for his wicked sense of humor.
Surviving are his wife; two children, Garrett (Sandra) Vargas of Sammamish, WA and Corinne Vargas of Menlo Park; two grandchildren, Ryan and Quinn; and brother, Paul of Fullerton.
Services will be held Thursday, May 19 at St. Mathias, 1685 Cordilleras Road, Redwood City. The rosary will be at 10:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00, with private interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please remember the American Heart Association.
