The City of Redwood City is currently seeking residents to serve on a number of committees, boards and commissions to act as advisors to the city council on a variety of issues, including housing, police and planning, according to a news release from the city.
Once appointed, citizen volunteers will serve on advisory boards and make recommendations to council members about the board they serve on.
To serve on an advisory board, one must be at least 18 years old, be eligible to vote and be a resident of Redwood City, according to the release. However, some advisory boards, have some space for residents for unincorporated Redwood City or for non-Redwood City residents.
The following boards, commissions and committees are seeking applicants:
- Architectural Advisory Committee (appointed by the Planning Commission): 3 full-term seats expiring May 31, 2026
- Arts Commission: 2 full-term seats and 1 partial term seat expiring May 31, 2026
- Board of Building Review: 2 full-term seats expiring on May 31, 2026
- Historic Resources Advisory Committee (appointed by the Planning Commission): 1 full-term seat expiring May 31, 2025
- Housing and Human Concerns Committee: 4 full-term seats expiring May 31, 2026
- Library Board: 3 full-term seats expiring June 30, 2026
- Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission: 4 full-term seats expiring May 31, 2026
- Planning Commission: 2 full-term seats expiring June 30, 2026
- Police Advisory Committee: 1 partial-term seat expiring May 31, 2023, and 1 partial term seat expiring May 31, 2025
- Port Commission: 2 full-term seats expiring July 31, 2026
- Senior Affairs Commission: 3 full-term seats expiring May 31, 2026
