A 36-year-old Modesto man was arrested on Sunday by the Redwood City Police Department for having a stolen gun and $300,000 worth of warrants, according to police and a RCPD Facebook post

The arrest took place in the area of Rolison Road and Second Avenue, and while it’s unclear what led police to make the initial contact with the man, officers said the man identified himself to police using a stolen driver’s license. When the officers patted him down, they found he had a loaded gun, which was later determined to be stolen, according to the Facebook post.

Police also discovered that the man had a set of burglary tools on him, they said in the post. The warrants are from an alleged carjacking in Fremont, according to police.

Police said the man was booked into jail for felon in possession of a loaded firearm, possession of burglary tools, possession of stolen property, and false impersonation.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and they would not be providing a name, according to a city spokesperson.

No other information was provided.
