Richard van Gelder, 90, a Palo Alto man with a decades-long career in the telecommunication industry, and whose volunteer work with First Congregational Church included tech support and delivering flowers to the homebound, on Dec. 21, 2024.
Nancy Jean Soltau, 93, a volunteer at Peninsula Children’s Center and Stanford’s International House, and a co-founder of the company Cable Car Seminars & Tours, on Jan. 31, 2025.
Robert Redfern-West, 80, a Palo Alto man who founded his own scholarly publishing company, Academica Press, and whose work included the publication of the personal papers of Pope John Paul II, on Sept. 10, 2024.
Martha Ball Clayton, 94, an active member of Palo Alto’s First Presbyterian Church and founding member of Kara, a nonprofit organization that provides grief support for children, teens, families and adults, on Dec. 19, 2024.
