Two men accused of stealing up to $200,000 worth of items from a rug store earlier this month were arrested by Redwood City officers, according to police.

The Medallion Rug Outlet on Convention Way in Redwood City was burglarized on June 1, the Redwood City Police Department said Monday. Three suspects can be seen on surveillance video taking several items valued between $150,000 and $200,000.

Police believe that two of the people in the video are Redwood City residents, a 40-year-old and a 32-year-old. On Tuesday, the 40-year-old man was found at a local encampment and was arrested. Police allege a large amount of stolen property linked to the rug store burglary was recovered there.

The 32-year-old was located and arrested on Wednesday.

Both suspects were booked into the San Mateo County Maguire Correctional Facility on suspicion of commercial burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, committing theft with prior theft convictions, and an enhancement for property loss greater than $65,000.

Detectives are still searching for the third suspect. Anyone with information helpful to this case is encouraged to contact the police at (650) 780-7100.

Editor’s Note: The Redwood City Pulse’s policy is to withhold the names of those arrested for most crimes until the District Attorney has determined there is sufficient evidence to file charges in the case. See our guidelines here.
