The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) this week opened applications for their 2023 Community Fund today.
This initiative provides organizations that are helping create "a more socially, economically, and racially just San Mateo County," with both funding and leadership support, according to a company news release. Since its launch, the CZI Community Fund has given grants to over 133 local organizations.
“Local, community-driven solutions are the key to building a healthier, more equitable community in San Mateo County and beyond,” said Cristina Huezo, vice president of community at CZI. “Community Fund partners deeply understand the challenges facing residents and what it will take to improve outcomes for everyone.”
Organizations focusing on areas such as: housing, healthcare, education, job and career skills, and other social supports are encouraged to apply.
The Community Fund will offer two-year grants of up to $200,000, so partners have greater flexibility to address the most urgent needs facing the local community.
San Mateo County organizations can submit applications starting today until June 30, 2022, at 5 p.m.
