A 33-year-old man was arrested for allegedly grabbing a woman inappropriately as he rode by her on a bicycle in Redwood City on Thursday, police said.
A Redwood City resident was arrested late Thursday morning on suspicion of the sexual battery that occurred at Broadway and Jefferson Avenue in the city’s downtown area.
Redwood City police said the victim reported she was standing at the southwest corner of the intersection when a bicyclist riding by reached out and grabbed her before riding east on Jefferson.
Investigators obtained surveillance footage of the suspect and shared details with patrol units, and shortly afterward, officers saw someone matching the description in the 1000 block of Middlefield Road.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of sexual battery and investigators have identified him as a suspect in three similar cases dating back to July involving women targeted while in public, police said.
