Redwood City has been announced as a finalist for the 2023 All-America City Award, which recognizes communities that effectively use civic engagement, collaboration, inclusiveness, and innovation to create positive change.
This year's theme is "Creating Thriving Communities through Youth Engagement," with a focus on improving the well-being of young people.
In its application, Redwood City highlighted several initiatives, including PACE, The People's Budget, Youth Inclusion and Childcare Initiatives, and the Anti-Displacement Strategy.
The city has made significant strides in involving youth, particularly from underrepresented communities, in decision-making processes and local projects, according to city leaders.
The 2023 All-America City Awards ceremony will be held from June 9-11 in Denver.
