Three people self-evacuated without injuries from a “large” structure fire in Emerald Lake Hills on Monday afternoon, according to CAL Fire CZU San Mateo County.

The blaze took place at around 3 p.m. at the 2200 block of Edgewood Road, where a nearly 3,000-square-foot, three-bed, three-bath home sits. Emergency response led to the traffic closure between Deer Creek Lane and Crestview Drive on Monday afternoon for around two hours.

The fire required around 45 minutes to put out, with efforts from the Redwood City Fire Department, Colma Fire Protection District, Woodside Fire Protection District, San Mateo Consolidated Fire Department, and San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, CAL Fire CZU San Mateo County said.
