San Mateo County seeks to can ‘whippets’
The board last week introduced the ordinance, which would ban the sale and distribution of nitrous oxide, informally known as laughing gas, or whippets. San Mateo could be one of the first counties in California to do so.
Stanford Hospital staff call for stronger patient protections after ICE arrest
More than 100 demonstrators, including dozens of Stanford Hospital employees, gathered at a Tuesday rally in front of the hospital to protest its administration’s treatment of a patient who was arrested by ICE last week and to demand the health institution create a policy to protect patients from federal agents in the hospital.
