Today marks the first day of the ‘Measure A’ hearing to remove San Mateo County Sheriff Christina Corpus. The hearing is open to the public and began at 9 a.m. in Courtroom 2M at the San Mateo County Hall of Justice in Redwood City. Seats are first-come, first-served. To say the least, the events leading up to this point have been chaotic.

The sheriff has defiantly refused to resign and previously ignored repeated calls to drop her friend, Victor Aenlle, from her staff. The hearing is expected to take days. This could be the first time in San Mateo County history that a sheriff would be removed from office by a board of supervisors.
