“Cut from the Same Cloth” is a wide-ranging group show that weaves together the many connections between one of the oldest of handcrafts and newer technology. The show is on view through April 6.

Peninsula Libraries hold convention for young writers this weekend

Fireside Books and More opens in downtown Redwood City

Owners and Redwood City residents Andrew Johnson and Taylor Kubota said they hope Fireside will become a part of their hometown’s fabric. The name of the store is an homage to one in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, where Johnson grew up.

El Comal opens in Los Altos, specializing in dishes from Oaxaca and Yucatán

Contractor Jaime Valle’s latest construction project is his most personal yet – it’s his debut restaurant, and it showcases flavors from his heritage. El Comal, named after a type of flat and round griddle dating back to the 6th century B.C., offers all-day dining featuring cuisine from Oaxaca and Yucatán.
