The Redwood City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man suspected of committing three armed robberies.
The string of robberies occurred between Oct. 6, 2022, and Nov. 18, 2022.
According to Redwood City Police Department Lt. Nick Perna, the robberies occurred at two small businesses in the El Camino Real and Chestnut Street area and a third business at the 900 block of Whipple Avenue. The three businesses were a jewelry store, a loan business and a laundromat. It's unclear what dollar amount was stolen, Perna said.
The suspect used a semiautomatic handgun, according to Perna.
Perna said the reason the department waited until now to release the photo was that investigators did not want to tip off the suspect or let them know they were looking for them until all other investigative leads had been utilized.
While the RCPD has obtained several photos of the suspect, they have yet to identify him. Anyone who recognizes the suspect is encouraged to call the number 650-780-7620.
