The Nine Lives Foundation is planning a new adoption and veterinary facility on Brewster Avenue that would bring all of its operations under one roof for the first time.

Executive Director Liam Montgomery said the new site, called the “Furever Home,” will include an adoption center, veterinary clinic and community programs. The goal, he said, is to expand services and meet the growing demand for affordable animal care.

By 2028, the nonprofit expects to perform more than 10,000 surgeries a year — including spay and neuter procedures, dental work and other lifesaving treatments — and find homes for about 2,000 cats annually. The new building will include surgical suites, healing wards and expanded space for adoptions.

“This is not just a building. It is a lifeline for cats and the people who love them,” Montgomery said in a statement.

The group has raised $1.8 million toward its $2.5 million goal for the project.
