Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Good morning, Redwood City!

Housing homework

Last Friday, a month after its first draft was rejected, Redwood City published an updated version of its housing element. As the city’s housing plan for the next 8 years, the element outlines housing policies, construction timelines, as well as recommended housing sites and zoning amendments.

One of the more important things to know is that this is supposed to be an iterative, collaborative process that takes into account the voices and needs of all Redwood City residents. So, whether you’ve been following this closely (like me) or this is the first you’ve heard of the housing element, the city wants to hear from YOU.

There is a virtual and in-person listening sessions at City Hall today from 1-5 p.m. and another on Thursday at the same time. Sign up here. (You can also read more about the housing element, and check out the draft, at the homepage here.)

Meet your candidates

Next Monday, Sept. 19, my editor Michelle and I will be hosting the candidates for Redwood City Council in an online forum. Join us on Zoom from 7-9 p.m. to meet your council hopefuls. Sign up here!

Your reporter,

Leah
