The 14th year of Shakespeare in the Park begins in Redwood City’s Red Morton Park on Saturday, Aug. 9, with performances of the romantic comedy “The Two Gentlemen of Verona.” The show is free and will run Saturdays and Sundays through Aug. 24.

San Francisco Shakespeare Festival is bringing the play to Redwood City for three weekends and the show will begin at 6 p.m. The play, modified from William Shakespeare’s original, follows two young men as they journey from a small, traditional Midwestern town to the alluring promise of California. The two friends venture westward and confront their inner conflicts as they are seduced by the possibilities of love, success and reinvention.

We’re proud to offer professional theatre to our community in such an accessible way.”

The play is suitable for all ages and runs 90 minutes with no intermission.
