A community meeting set expressly to discuss safety near the intersections of highways 35 and 84 is set for Tuesday evening and judging from a swirl of emails in advance of the gathering it is shaping up to be consequential.
The study session is set for 6 p.m. at Independence Hall, 2955 Woodside Road in Woodside. Participants can arrive in person or view proceedings on Zoom. Those in the community can also send in comments on the subject before and after the meeting using the Town Hall email address, townhall@woodsideca.gov.
Residents have long complained about the speed of travel on the curvy mountain roads. Those concerns have only escalated this summer in the wake of high profile crashes involving cars and bicycles in the area. Those collisions include an Aug. 30 crash associated with a car meet-up in La Honda.
Study sessions are meant to address particular issues in the community and are not typically meetings that culminate in government action. Often the information gathered at such meetings becomes the basis for later votes.
