Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Make the most of those last days of December leading up to New Year’s — there’s music from Bee Gees tribute band You Should Be Dancing, jazz and blues vocalist Jamie Davis; a celebration of the Festival of Lights with klezmer music and homemade kugels; or the chance to get a pilot’s eye view of the inside of many historic planes on Open Cockpit Day.

You Should Be Dancing
How deep is your love for the Bee Gees? Catch a case of “Saturday Night Fever” at the Guild when You Should Be Dancing, a Bay Area Bee Gees tribute band, honors the sound and spirit of the Brothers Gibb, including their heavenly harmonies, soaring falsetto vocals and sometimes-disco-rhythmed songs. DJ Devere opens the evening.

Dec. 28 at 8 p.m., The Guild Theatre, 949 El Camino Real, Menlo Park; $48.09-$77.64; guildtheatre.com.

Open Cockpit Day
If you’ve ever wondered what it’d be like to fly, say, a Fokker Dr.1 Red Baron or a Boeing 737, your chance to get a little bit closer to that dream (while staying safely on the ground) is here. Visitors can get a pilot’s eye view of many of the aircraft at Hiller Aviation Museum on its next Open Cockpit Day. While a few cockpits are always open to museum-goers, on Open Cockpit Days, additional aircraft are made available for the public to sit down and take a good look at the controls and instruments.

Dec. 28, 10 a.m. to noon; Hiller Aviation Museum, 601 Skyway Road, San Carlos; included with museum admission ($14-$22, free for members and kids under 30); hiller.org

Hot Kugel Hanukkah
Celebrate the Festival of Lights in delicious style with Feldman’s Books, when the store and community hub hosts its first “Hot Kugel Hanukkah,” featuring klezmer music and homemade noodle and potato kugels.

Dec. 27, 6-8 p.m., Feldman’s Books, 1075 Curtis. St., Menlo Park; donation-based; eventbrite.com/e/hot-kugel-hanukkah-at-feldmans-books-tickets-1111007616689

Jamie Davis
Bass-baritone jazz and blues vocalist Jamie Davis, who’s performed all over the world, including as a member of the Count Basie Orchestra, comes to Palo Alto’s Meyhouse for what the venue is billing as a holiday special. Davis is featured on the album “Basie Swings the Blues,” which won the 2024 Grammy Award for best large jazz ensemble album. As is customary at Meyhouse, Davis will perform an early and a late show.

Dec. 27, 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., Meyhouse, 640 Emerson St., Palo Alto; $50 plus sales tax and $20 food/drink minimum;
