Redwood City Police: Power outages knock out traffic lights at multiple intersections

Update: Power has been restored.

A power outage knocked out Redwood City traffic lights at four intersections, causing traffic congestion, police said at 5 p.m. Saturday.
       The department recommended that drivers avoid these intersections:
       — Maple Street and Veterans Boulevard
       — Roosevelt Avenue and El Camino Real
       — Jefferson Avenue and Marshall Street
       — Spring Street and Chestnut Street
       Power was expected to be restored by 6:45 p.m., police said, citing a PG&E estimate.
