Nine Lives Foundation has launched a new partnership with San Mateo County’s Spay and Neuter Voucher Program to help residents afford spay and neuter services for cats, the nonprofit announced.

The initiative began April 1.

“Spaying or neutering your cats is vital,” said Liam Montgomery, executive director of the Redwood City-based nonprofit. “Every year, thousands of cats and kittens face uncertain futures due to overpopulation. We are thrilled to offer this revolutionary new partnership with San Mateo County.”

The program covers the full cost of surgery and vaccines for feral cats through Trap-Neuter-Return efforts. Pet owners can also receive up to $150 toward spay or neuter services at Nine Lives’ low-cost clinic, located at 3106 Rolison Road.

Vouchers can be downloaded online or obtained via the county’s hotline. Residents can then schedule surgeries directly with Nine Lives.
