Kaiser Permanente’s Redwood City campus marked the reopening of its weekly farmers’ market on Tuesday, July 22. The market, held in the outdoor courtyard at Thrive Drive and Maple Street, operates Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Visitors can browse a variety of produce, prepared foods, and other items, including fresh fruits, vegetables, snacks, and plants. The event is intended to promote healthy eating habits and provide a space for community gathering.

“We know that it’s very important to incorporate fresh fruits and vegetables into our diet,” said Grace Tay, MD, a surgeon at Kaiser Permanente Redwood City. “They are crucial – in addition to medication – to reversing many of our chronic diseases.”

Shasta Addessi, Kaiser Permanente’s Senior Vice President and Area Manager for the San Mateo service area, said the farmers’ market provides a place for residents to come together while supporting local vendors. She added that it also offers a seasonal activity for the community to enjoy during the summer.

The market is adjacent to a children’s play area. Free parking is available nearby in the garage at 1250 Veterans Blvd.
