A 45-year-old Redwood City man charged in connection to the sexual assault of a teenage girl pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child, according to the San Mateo District Attorney's Office.
County prosecutors allege that Heriberto Rosaslugo sexually abused his 13-year-old stepdaughter continuously dating back to July 11, 2016.
On Saturday, a family friend learned about the abuse and reported it to officials at the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, according to county prosecutors. Sheriff's deputies arrested Rosaslugo at his home without incident and he was booked into county jail, according to the Sheriff's Office.
He remains in custody with bail set at $300,000, according to court records. He is set to return to court on Sept. 28 for a preliminary hearing.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact Detective J. Fava at (650) 363-4192 or jfava@smcgov.org.
