An 18-year-old man was arrested at the Courtyard Marriot on Bair Island after police said witnesses saw him with a gun in the hotel, according to a Redwood City Police news release.
Around midnight Sunday, Redwood City Police arrived at the hotel at the 600 block of Bair Island Road, where the man was said to be on the third floor and in possession of a gun, police said.
Officers established a perimeter and staged an arrest team in the lobby near the elevators, the press release said. As the man exited the elevator in the hotel lobby, police officers arrested and searched him, police said. The search revealed that the man had a loaded, unregistered semi-automatic pistol concealed in his waistband.
He was booked into the San Mateo County Jail on several gun-related violations.
