A 25-year-old man suspected of stealing three vehicles was taken into custody over the weekend in Redwood City, police said Monday.

On Saturday, officers spotted a van parked in the area of Buckeye and Chew streets that appeared to have been stolen.

Using the department’s license plate reader database, officers confirmed it was stolen. Two men who were seen entering the stolen van were detained, Redwood City police said.

Police also found two other stolen vehicles, a box truck and a motorcycle, that were parked in the area, a dead-end street near railroad tracks and Woodside Road.

One of the men was arrested on suspicion of auto theft.

The other man was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and had a minor warrant. He was cited and released from the scene.
