San Mateo County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 27-year-old man after he reportedly carjacked an occupied vehicle in North Fair Oaks at around 6 p.m. on Saturday evening.
The man allegedly attempted to carjack one vehicle but fled and then got into a second vehicle that was occupied, according to a department press release. He sat in the front passenger seat and forced the driver to make a U-turn at the intersection of Middlefield Road and Pacific Avenue before jumping out of the car and fleeing.
Sheriff’s deputies saturated the area and quickly located the man at the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Middlefield Road. He was arrested and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility for alleged carjacking, kidnapping and parole violation.
The Sheriff’s Office said no weapons were used during the alleged carjacking, and no one was injured.
