A 32-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly trying to record a woman in a restroom at Red Morton Park in Redwood City last weekend, police said Thursday.
Officers had responded at 2:46 p.m. Sunday to the park at 1120 Roosevelt Ave. on reports of a man who went into the women’s restroom there and attempted to record an occupied stall with a cellphone, according to Redwood City police.
The victim, a 32-year-old woman from Vacaville, screamed for help and her husband and other family members confronted the suspect, who fled in a blue Honda Fit before officers arrived, police said.
Investigators eventually identified the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant for him. On Wednesday, officers located and arrested him on suspicion of invasion of privacy, and also executed a search warrant at his home, according to police.
Anyone with additional information about the case is encouraged to contact Redwood City police at (650) 780-7100 or the department’s tip line at (650) 780-7107.
