The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a home invasion that occurred around 2 a.m. on Friday morning in San Carlos on the 1400 block of Greenwood Ave. Law enforcement officials are asking the community to review home security footage and to share any evidence they find.
The suspect allegedly forced entry into the home and pointed what appeared to be a firearm at the victim, demanded money and fled the scene on a bicycle. The victim was not injured, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect was described as a man wearing a black face mask, dark-colored hoodie and light-colored pants.
Deputies conducted a neighborhood canvass and collected statements and evidence. The Sheriff’s Office also deployed its drone and K-9 unit, but the suspect was not located.
Community members can expect an increase in patrols in the area as the Sheriff’s Office allocates resources to investigate the home invasion.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking for community members to review any security footage recorded after midnight that depicts a person riding a bicycle. Anyone with information should contact Detective M. Dimaya or call 650-363-4064.
