The Redwood City Police Department on Thursday said two people were shot inside a house this week, overriding an earlier report in which it said only one individual was shot.
According to police, at around 9:15 a.m., the Redwood City Police Department received a report of a gunshot victim near the intersection of Farm Hill Boulevard and McGarvey Avenue.
While en route to the location, first responders received a second call that another individual sustained gunshot wounds on the 3000 block of Hastings Avenue, police said.
Officers determined upon arrival that both victims were involved in the same event that occurred inside a residence in the 3000 block of Hastings Avenue. No additional victims or involved parties were present, and no other individuals were located, according to the Redwood City Police Department.
Both victims were transported to local hospitals with critical injuries, but are expected to survive, police said.
All available Redwood City police units responded to the incident, according to the Thursday press release.
After officers and detectives contacted residents in the surrounding area and conducted a neighborhood canvas, the police department said in its Thursday press release that this incident was “isolated” and involved individuals known to one another, and that there is no longer an ongoing threat to the public.
According to an initial report sent by the police department on Wednesday morning, police identified only one gunshot victim, not the second.
