A teenager accused of stabbing a man during a fight in downtown Redwood City on Tuesday was arrested and booked into the Youth Services Center, according to the Redwood City Police Department.

The incident took place around 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, when the 14-year-old allegedly stabbed an 18-year-old man during a fight on the 2100 block of  Broadway, police said. 

According to police, the Redwood City teen is accused of producing a knife and stabbing the victim, who sustained facial injuries and a non-life-threatening stab wound, before fleeing the scene. The 18-year-old declined medical treatment at the scene.

The teenage suspect was identified by officers, found at his home in Redwood City and arrested without incident and then transported to the San Mateo County Youth Services Center on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
