Good morning, Redwood City!

Groundbreaking news

Yesterday was a big day for San Mateo County's golden shovels, which were used to break ground on two major projects. The first was a new Navigation Center, which will offer temporary housing to 240 people experiencing homelessness throughout the county.

As part of their negotiations with the county, Redwood City has secured five beds for immediate access to city residents in need. You can read the full story here.

Officials also broke ground on a new, state-of-the-art headquarters for the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. Located in the site of the former Maguire Correctional Facility, the facilities will be the first major upgrade for the Sheriff's Office in over 60 years.

Much more coming your way soon…stay tuned.

Happy Thursday!
