Redwood City's City Hall will remain closed to in-person services through the end of February in an effort to help limit the spread of COVID-19, according to a statement released earlier this week.

Though positive case counts have begun to decline, severe and fatal cases remain high with a 133% increase in hospitalizations over the last two weeks, according to the city press release.

“I am hopeful we will be able to resume in-person services three days a week effective February 28,” City Manager Melissa Stevenson Diaz said in the statement. “Naturally, we will re-evaluate if necessary based on the data available and guidance from health officials.”

Libraries will continue to allow in-person visits, with capacity limited to 25% and other safety protocols, such as masking and social distancing, still in place. Information about all library services and regulations is available here

Indoor gyms will also be closed through the end of the month. Lunch programs run by the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department will take place outdoors or as a to-go service. All department classes will continue to be held in accordance with current capacity limits and indoor mask regulations.
