The City of Redwood City on Monday will celebrate the completion of its Middlefield Road Streetscape Project, the city announced on Thursday. The project replaces sidewalks and removes some utility poles and overhead wires.
The celebration will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the corner of Middlefield Road and Cassia Street at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 7. Redwood City Mayor Giselle Hale and other Redwood City officials will be in attendance.

The transportation project was focused on improving the quality of life for residents, according to a news release from the city. Sidewalks have been replaced, including accessible curb ramps, crosswalks and bike lanes. Trees, streetlights and green infrastructure have also been added to the area.
The project began in 2019. Learn more about the project here.
