The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office has launched a transparency portal on its website, which makes agency practices and demographic information accessible through a link on the homepage of the site, according to a county news release.

The information shared includes staff demographic data, internal investigation data, eviction data, and crime data. Arrests shown are only inclusive of San Mateo County Sheriff's Office arrests and do not reflect all arrests in San Mateo County.

“As Sheriff, I strive to provide transparency on police activities, department policies, training materials, and agency practices," said Sheriff Carlos G. Bolanos in a statement. "The launch of our transparency portal is one avenue for us to ensure that valuable, useful public data can be easily accessible and viewed by our community members. I am committed to advancing measures to build strong relationships with our community."
