Redwood City, San Mateo County to kick-off Pride Month with flag-raising ceremonies

In celebration of Pride Month, Redwood City in partnership with San Mateo County LGBTQ Commission will be holding a flag-raising ceremony next week. The event takes place on Tuesday, May 31, at 5:30 p.m. on Courthouse Square. The City will provide LGBTQ resources, an information booth, a poet presentation, a photo booth and rainbow cookies for the first 150 guests. 

The following day, June 1, the San Mateo County LGBTQ Commission, will be holding a separate flag-raising ceremony at 10 a.m. at the County Center. Speakers include Supervisor Carole Groom, a representative of the LGBTQ Commission, Pride Initiative and Pride Center.
