Good morning! Happy Friday.

Big News!

The Redwood City Pulse's founder, publisher and CEO, Bill Johnson, announced to us last week that he plans to retire later this year after leading our organization, Embarcadero Media, for the last 43 years. He'll hand over the day-to-day operations but stay involved with some of our big-picture initiatives.

His successor will be Adam Dawes, a born and raised Palo Altan, who worked for Google for 14 years and held several positions there, most recently as part of the Google News Initiative. This $300 million program is working with media organizations large and small across the globe to help them adapt their business models and strategies to journalism's digital future.

Adam has been on the Embarcadero Media board for almost 10 years. He has worked with our senior management team as we've developed our strategies for the future, especially in refining and expanding our digital products, including last October's launch of Redwood City Pulse.
