A man was arrested in Redwood City Saturday afternoon after police said he attacked another man with a knife.
Redwood City Police reported to the intersection of Arguello Street and Brewster Avenue just after noon on Saturday. Redwood City resident Otilio Gonzalez, 59, swung a knife at a 38-year-old male victim, causing a superficial cut to his neck, according to officials.
Seven cop cars and at least six officers were seen monitoring the site and speaking with a bystander, along with three other men. It's unclear whether those civilians were involved in or witnesses to the crime.
Gonzalez was booked at the San Mateo County Jail and charged with a misdemeanor for assault with a deadly weapon, according to county records. He submitted an initial plea of not guilty and has since been let go on supervised release, pending trial.
The victim, a Redwood City resident who was treated at the scene by Redwood City Fire personnel, declined to be transported to the hospital, according to police.
