Una Vida
Exactly two weeks ago, three local Latinas cut the blue ribbon, officially opening the doors to their new fully bilingual community counseling center.
Known as Una Vida, and dedicated to serving the local Spanish-speaking community, the center is located right in the heart of Redwood City and offers affordable (or free) services to all.
“We’re trying to educate our people to see that sometimes they need this help,” said Cony Fuentes, a peer counselor and the director of community partnerships. “And it's a safe place for them. Because sometimes they are really afraid to ask.”
