Good morning, Redwood City!
Back in the tent
If you haven’t been to downtown Redwood City in the last few days you might not have seen the enormous blue and white peaked structure looming over the library parking lot…
That’s right! The circus is back in town. Originally founded in Italy in 1842 (that’s 180 years ago), the Zoppé Family Circus is celebrating its 13th year in Redwood City—a place its current director, Giovanni Zoppé, refers to as their second home.
There’s a special spot in my heart for this circus, having spent a fair bit of time under the magnificent tent last year. A behind-the-scenes peek became one of my favorite stories I’ve written for the Pulse. You can read that here (or at least scroll through the pictures).
Don’t forget to buy your tickets! The circus begins its four-week run with two shows tomorrow at 4 and 7 p.m.
Your reporter,
Leah
